When a student needs help, our team notices — and acts.
Academic success starts with knowing each student well. SLA's Student Wide Support Team (SWST) meets monthly to review student concerns and recommend targeted interventions, so struggles get addressed early, not after they've grown. This team-based approach means support decisions aren't made by one teacher alone; they're built on input from across the school.
Support also happens every day in the classroom, reinforced by tools like Achieve3000 for reading growth, IXL and ALEKS for skills practice, and Read 180 for targeted reading intervention, giving teachers real data to guide extra help where it's needed. Character and leadership development are built into the school year too, with a structured, in-house curriculum covering goal-setting, organization, responsibility, and appreciation, month by month, so academic growth and personal growth happen together.
Families stay in the loop through Google Classroom and direct teacher email contact, and we encourage (though don't require) optional Summer Reading and Math plans to help students maintain skills between school years.
What support includes:
- Monthly SWST review and intervention planning
